Craving something healthy yet satisfying, I ordered their half Pretzel Chicken Sando paired with half Garden of Eden salad - the perfect portion that left me feeling energized rather than sluggish. The cashier's friendly smile made ordering a breeze, though I did encounter a small hiccup when several tables needed wiping down (nothing a quick self-service cleanup couldn't fix). What makes The Mixx special is their commitment to food that's actually good for you - everything prepped from scratch using non-GMO certified ingredients without preservatives or high-fructose corn syrup. As Kansas City's first healthy fast-casual spot (opened in 2005!), they've perfected the art of making nutritious food that doesn't sacrifice flavor. Oh..and I didn’t eat the cookies okay, even though I really wanted some! Sometimes the best lunch decisions aren't just about what you eat, but WHEN you eat it. I get my wife the salmon BLT and it's always fabulous. I mean fabulous. Today (August 12, 2025) it was spectacular, best ever she said. Every bite. The bread was sumptuous, the salmon plentiful and perfect. The flavoring is always incredible, but today's was the best it's ever been. Trust me: This is some of the best salmon in KC!

A friend of ours recommended that we try The Mixx after we commented on liking another salad place up the street. He works at the Apple store and frequent this place for lunch. My wife and I arrived just after 12 noon on a Tuesday and the place was doing a brisk business. There were a few spots available to sit, which was nice consider considering how busy they were. The instructions for ordering were very clear and we knew where to go and what to do. I appreciated that because of the many offerings they have. We opted for a sandwich and soup rather than salad on this particular day. I had the country club sandwich and the turkey was very good and of high-quality. The bread tasted a little bit stale with the edges and the crust being a little chewier than they should be. The soup of the day was a lemon lentil soup and it was delicious. It was a vegetarian soup and I didn’t miss the meat at all. My wife had a blue cheese and beef sandwich on a focaccia bread. The bread was amazing and the beef was amazing but the blue cheese was way too much. We both thought that there was too much sauce on it and it ruined the sandwich. We would preferred about 1/3 of the amount of sauce that they put on it. It really overpowered the sandwich and was not something we were able to finish. Her pasta salad was great! We will likely return to try some other things as the concept and food quality are amazing.

I’ve been here a few times when seeking a healthy option, but wow, be prepared to spend some money to eat healthy. My husband’s lunch sized salmon salad was $21 and this was not a sit down and get waited on establishment. It took them 3 times to make my garden of Eden salad and even the third time they got it wrong. I asked for dressing on the side and sub goat cheese for bleu cheese. So my husband was half way through with his lunch before I finally got my salad with the right kind of cheese, but they still drenched it in dressing. My pretzel chicken sandwich (1/2) was really small and the chicken was really tough, I couldn’t eat most of it. The chicken tortilla soup was the best part. Ordering in two separate places then trying to combine the ticket at the end wasn’t difficult, just a bit annoying. They definitely have some misses to improve, but we like to have it for a healthy, quick option if the budget allows.

Went here for lunch with friends. Great good and great atmosphere. I had the pretzel chicken sando, which was really good and opted for the sweet potato fries. Both were excellent!! High quality ingredients and several options for those with gluten free or vegan needs! We will definitely be back!!
